Insurance Claim Documentation for Water, Fire and Storm Damage in Cape Coral
When your home or business is damaged, your insurance company decides what is covered. Our job is to stop the damage, restore the property to its pre-loss condition, and document every step so you have a complete record to submit with your claim.
What We Document
- Photos of every affected area before, during and after the work
- Moisture readings and moisture maps for walls, floors, ceilings and cabinets
- Daily drying logs with equipment placement, temperature, relative humidity and grains per pound
- Thermal imaging where it helps show where water traveled
- A detailed Xactimate scope of the mitigation and the rebuild, line by line
- An inventory of damaged materials and contents that had to be removed
How It Works With Your Insurance Company
- You report the loss to your insurance company and get a claim number.
- We start emergency mitigation to limit the damage, because water keeps damaging materials until it is removed.
- We hand you the documentation: photos, moisture maps, drying logs and our scope.
- At your request, we explain our scope to your insurance company or adjuster so the work is clear.
Contact your insurance company to verify coverage for your loss. Coverage decisions and the settlement are between you and your insurance company.
What We Do Not Do
Service One Restoration is a Florida Certified General Contractor (CGC1536266), not a public adjuster. We do not interpret your policy, advise you on coverage, or negotiate your claim. If you want someone to represent you on a claim, a licensed public adjuster or an attorney can help.
Water, Fire and Storm Losses We Document
- Water damage restoration: burst pipes, water heater and AC leaks, appliance leaks, slab leaks and flooding
- Fire damage restoration: smoke and soot cleanup, odor removal and reconstruction
- Storm damage restoration: hurricane and tropical storm damage, emergency board-up and tarping, water intrusion and repairs
